Contract Coordinator

Salary: $74,092 to $92,784 per annum based on a 70 hour biweekly (1820)

Position Type: Full Time Permanent

The Contract Coordinator works to develop a variety of contracting documents including scope of work, budget preparation, develops, advertises and solicits requests for tender and reviews all incoming bids against the required scope of work, KDFN procurement processes and makes recommendations for contractor selection to the Director. Designated as the departmental occupational safety representative, the position will demonstrate exemplary leadership and enforcement of safe work practices and procedures for staff and contractors of the department.

We are seeking a dynamic individual who enjoys working in a fast paced and busy team environment. You will have strong organizational and administrative skills, excellent interpersonal skills, have a critical eye and be able to work with a variety of individuals.

Essential Qualifications:
• Journeyperson designation OR completion of a diploma in project management, housing maintenance/management or equivalent, combined with considerable years of successful progressive experience in building construction, maintenance or similar, preferably in the north;
• Experience creating & managing contracts;
• Experienced financial and personnel management, preferably supervising contractors;
• Knowledge of and experience in project, property and asset management or maintenance;
• Experience providing sound technical advice and enforcing safety in the workplace and on job sites;
• Experience utilizing computer systems including Microsoft Word, Excel, and data base software;
• Knowledge of and experience working within various acts, policies, procedures and standards (i.e.: applicable Federal/Territorial legislation, the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) requirements, building codes and housing policies);
• Solid oral and written communication skills including experience writing reports (daily, monthly and annual) on building maintenance and property management activities.

An equivalent combination of education, training, certifications and significant experience will be equally considered.
