Salary: $90,345 to $122,540 per annum, plus benefits.

Description

The Kwanlin Dün Health Department is committed to improving the quality of life of the community by adopting a collaborative, holistic and culturally appropriate approach to individual, family and community well-being, pursuing health program service and delivery excellence.

Reporting to the Executive Director of Kwanlin Dün First Nation, the Director of Health provides strategic leadership and oversight in the planning, integration, delivery and evaluation of programs and services for our Nats’ekhi Health Centre. The incumbent is a key member of the Senior Management team working to build and implement priorities of the Kwanlin Dün First Nation and will have a sound knowledge of community health operations and a demonstrated commitment to team based, collaborate approaches to health care and service delivery.

Essential Qualifications:
• Degree in Health Administration, Nursing or related discipline, or equivalent combination of training and experience (a Master’s Degree will be considered an asset),
• Demonstrated progressive experience in the health services field with a minimum of 10 years of progressive experience working in the health care system
• Experience leading and resolving complex client and staff issues; solid conflict resolution skills are required
• Experience collaborating in team based environments and supporting the delivery of projects and initiatives
• Experience working in partnership with other agencies including Health Canada, territorial partners, child welfare, and other First Nations
• Experience in budget management, staff supervision and mentorship
• Knowledge of and experience working successfully in a First Nation community is an asset.

A sound knowledge of Aboriginal peoples social determinates of health, holistic health and population health approach in a community context and a familiarity with Kwanlin Dün First Nation history, culture, goals and aspirations is required for success.

Certification/Licensure/Registration: Current registration with the Yukon Registered Nurses Association (YRNA).
Conditions of Employment & Job Requirements: valid First Aid & CPR; valid class 5 driver`s license and personal vehicle; current immunizations; a Criminal Record Check, including Vulnerable Sector Search; Physical and mental health to meet the requirements of the position.
