Health Centre Administrative Assistant

Description

The Natsékhi Kų̀ Health Centre (Health Centre) within the Kwanlin Dün First Nation is looking for a relief Administrative Assistant. Reporting to the Manager of Home and Community Care, or designate, the relief Administrative Assistant will cover during periods of absence, and will provide clerical support to the Director and staff of the Health Centre.

Please note, there is no guarantee of regularly scheduled hours with auxiliary on call positions. One should be available for last minute call in.

The ideal candidate will be motivated and enthusiastic, have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and be willing to learn.

Qualifications:
• Completion of post-secondary diploma in business or office administration with 2 years of experience providing administrative support in a health setting; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience working in a health-related setting;
• Experience with computers, including a high typing efficiency;
• Experience utilizing Excel, Word, Outlook with some experience with records and database programs.
• Experience with office equipment (telephone, fax and photocopy machine, etc.);
• Experience maintaining record documentation is an asset;
• Knowledge of health-related agencies and other resources available for referrals;
• Stellar written and verbal communication abilities;
• Knowledge of Yukon First Nations’ socioeconomic history, alcohol, drug addiction and family abuse issues;
• Experience assisting through conflict and crisis situations;

Knowledge of KDFN history, culture, goals and aspirations is required for success in this position.

Conditions of Employment:
Mandatory confidentiality, class 5 driver’s license (Class 4 is an asset), acceptable criminal record and vulnerable sector search prior to employment commencing.
