Wildlife Workshop

Wildlife Workshop

The workshop is an opportunity for Kwanlin Dün citizens to share their traditional knowledge and help identify those KDFN settlement lands in the City of Whitehorse that should be set aside for wildlife. All Kwanlin Dün citizens are invited to attend this interactive workshop.

2. Presentation – Overview of KDFN Community Lands and the opportunities for wildlife conservation. – Interactive audience participation activity (make sure to bring your cell phones!).
3. Mapping activity – Citizens break into small groups to identify important wildlife habitat and ecologically significant areas within the City of Whitehorse. – Groups present their work through interactive activities.
4. Sign ups – Sign ups for project focus group and individual meetings.

Community Lands Plan - Community Events Schedule

The department of Lands and Resources has planned a series of consultation events with KDFN citizens about the Community Lands Plan. These events will involve public meetings and workshops as well as elders and youth events, small focus group discussions and individual one on one meetings. All KDFN citizens are encouraged to participate and make their voices heard.

Includes transportation to and from, gear, lift pass, rentals and lunch!
9:00-10:00 a.m. pick-ups / 3:00-4:00 p.m. drop-offs.
