The KDFN Youth Recreation team is beyond excited to share that they are starting an Olympic Freestyle Wrestling program for youth ages 9 – 18! Partnered with Yukon Aboriginal Sports circle we will run weekly wrestling practices on Tuesdays from 3:45-5:30 p.m. at Nàkwät’à Kų̀ starting February 5.
Wrestling is an amazing sport that teaches skills that transfer over to every sport, skills like: body awareness, flexibility, strength and agility. Wrestling is in the Arctic Winter Games and the North American Indigenous Games, which means it can provide great opportunities for travel and to represent your community, Nation and Territory. Please wear clothing you are comfortable in. Wrestling boots provided.
