Mrs. Irene Smith, long time Southern Tutchone language and heritage teacher, was recognized by Ta'an Kwach'an Council at Na'Kwa'Ta'ku on Saturday, May 3rd. Irene Smith was presented gifts from Chief Ruth Massie and Kwanlin Dün Chief Mike Smith to thank her for her many years of dedication to preserving the Southern Tutchone language, heritage and culture.
The celebration was well attended by both Ta'an and Kwanlin Dün community members.
