The newly elected council was sworn in on April 23rd 2008 at NáKwäT’ÀKú. The ceremony was led by a prayer by outgoing councilor, Ann Smith. Judicial Council member Victoria Fred swore in each councilor. The new council, the second Council to serve KDFN as a Self-Governing Nation include, from left to right: Shirley Dawson, Jessie Dawson, Edith Baker, Ray Webb, Jennifer Edzerza and Helen Charlie. The new council would like to thank out-going counselors, Ann Smith, Bill Webber and Alan Taylor for all of their hard work over the past three years. The Council would Also like to send its appreciation to outgoing Elders’ Councilor, Evalena Beisser for all of her hard work over the years.
