Season’s Greetings from Chief & Council

Kwanlin Dün`s Chief and Councillors would like to wish everyone a happy and safe holiday season.

The past year has been a full one for our government and our community. It was exciting to celebrate the graduation of many of our youth, witness awards presented to strong community role models, support the healing of others, and see many gaining on-the-job experience and skills. We are proud of the many achievements of our citizens.

We would like to pay our respects to our friends and families who have experienced the loss of a loved one. Each and every one of you are in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. We honour the memory of those who have passed, and the contributions they have made in our lives and in our community.

In the past year, we watched our Cultural Centre rise up and become a beautiful place our First Nation can be proud of. We are looking forward to once again welcoming visitors and hosting events by the river as we once did for generations.

We also look forward to continuing to build a strong and efficient government. Due to the recent losses in our community we have had to postpone the continuation of our 2011 General Assembly. In the new year, we will continue our outreach to citizens, listening to your input through the continuation of our General Assembly, as well as other community meetings where we will share our plans for the coming year.
Together, we can continue building the path to a healthier and more prosperous future for our people.

HAVE A SAFE AND HAPPY HOLIDAY, AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Chief Rick O’Brien, Ron MacIntosh, Jessie Dawson, Jennifer Edzerza, Charlene Charlie, Alicia Vance, Ray Sydney, Sarina Sydney and Judy Gingell.
