Vote will allow KDFN to move forward
Kwanlin Dün Beneficiaries are encouraged to vote on June 15, 2010 on three very important policies.
Approval of these policies will mean KDFN will be able to:
* approve longer-term land use on our lands (for things like building houses and cabins or developing businesses)
* more effectively manage and grow our settlement money
* better protect the interests of Beneficiaries
The three policies are:
Where the policies came from
The three policies have been developed by special committees made up of KDFN Beneficiaries and Councilors over the past two years. The wording has been approved at Beneficiary meetings.
Kwanlin Dün’s constitution says Beneficiaries must now vote on these policies before they can be fully approved. All KDFN Beneficiaries who will be 18 or older by voting day (June 15th) are eligible to vote.
Did you receive an information sheet?
An information sheet was sent to all Beneficiaries in December. If you are a Kwanlin Dun Beneficiary but you didn’t get the information sheet, please let us know as soon as possible. We might not have your right contact information.
A second information sheet will be sent out in closer to the voting date with details on when and how people can vote in the referendum. There will also be a community meeting in May on the policies.
Are you moving soon?
If you are a KDFN Beneficiary and are moving before the end of June, please be sure to send us your updated address!

We are looking for a Referendum Coordinator for March 29th to June 22nd. Full-time work is anticipated.
