As a beneficiary will I have a say in the Acts that will be developed if the Settlement Land Policy and the Investment Governance Policy are approved?

Chief and Council have guaranteed that KDFN beneficiaries will be consulted in the development of the Settlement Land Act and the Investment Governance Act which would be created if the Settlement Land Policy and the Investment Governance Policy are approved.

A consultation process will be established to ensure that beneficiaries are consulted in the development of the two Acts. Furthermore, beneficiaries will have the opportunity to provide their input on the Acts through KDFN’s legislative process.

Winners of Voters Draw

On June 21st, at a celebration BBQ event, the Voters Draw was held. Everyone who voted in person or by mail had their name put in a hat.

The lucky winners were:

* ELLIE SHORTY won 1st Prize (a Norseman Wall Tent (10 X 12 X 5) & Stove)
* JUSTIN SMITH won 2nd Prize (an Air North Summer Solstice Air Pass)
* CHRISTOPHER STERRIAH won 3rd Prize (a BBQ)

These prizes were offered by the KDFN government to encourage eligible KDFN beneficiaries to vote in the referendum.

The prizes were not associated with the Chief Returning Officer.
