If the Investment Governance Act is approved and a Trust Fund established will Chief and Council be able to remove Trustees from the Trust Fund?

No, only the Trust Fund’’s Protector, or a Court of law, will have the power to remove Trustees before their terms expire. The Protector is a trusted individual, knowledgeable of the law, who will be appointed by KDFN to oversee the Trust Fund and ensure that the Trustees comply with the terms of the Trust Deed approved by the beneficiaries. The Protector will report directly to the beneficiaries.

Winners of Voters Draw

On June 21st, at a celebration BBQ event, the Voters Draw was held. Everyone who voted in person or by mail had their name put in a hat.

The lucky winners were:

* ELLIE SHORTY won 1st Prize (a Norseman Wall Tent (10 X 12 X 5) & Stove)
* JUSTIN SMITH won 2nd Prize (an Air North Summer Solstice Air Pass)
* CHRISTOPHER STERRIAH won 3rd Prize (a BBQ)

These prizes were offered by the KDFN government to encourage eligible KDFN beneficiaries to vote in the referendum.

The prizes were not associated with the Chief Returning Officer.
