Voting in Person
People in Whitehorse will vote at the NaKwa Ta Ku Potlatch House on McIntyre Drive. There will be early voting, an advance vote and the regular vote.
Voting by Mail
All eligible Beneficiaries will be able to vote by mail if they want to!
All voters will be sent a voting package with three ballots (one for each policy) and a return envelope that is already addressed and stamped.
The package will also include detailed instructions on how and when to vote by mail.
Your mail-in packages should arrive by May 19th. If you haven’t received your voting package by then, please contact the Chief Returning Officer.
Mobile Voting
Beneficiaries who are not able to leave their homes or who are living in institutions (such as Copper Ridge, Macaulay Lodge or the jail) can still vote! We will come to you with a voting package.
You just need to call the Chief Returning Officer to arrange for the “mobile vote” to come to you. The mobile vote will be available starting on May 16th. You can book a time until June 12th at noon.
Who can vote?
All KDFN Beneficiaries who will be 18 or older by voting day (June 15th) are eligible to vote. If you are a Beneficiary old enough to vote, your name should be on the Voters List. Please check it out to make sure it is there! Be sure to contact us as soon as possible if it isn’t.
