You are invited to Hide Camp, April 27 – May 1, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. at Nàkwät’à Kų̀ Potlatch House.
Bring your own hides if you have some you are working on. You will have a chance to see and help with hides at all stages, and learn from Sarah Johnston Smith and Elder Darlene Scurvey. You can also learn tool making and more. See details on the calendar below.
For Youth: Register for Hide Camp and earn credits for participation

If you are in grade 10, 11 or 12 you can earn school credits for completing the Hide Camp Curriculum program. Students, together with Knowledge keepers, elders and staff will help with processing hides in a variety of stages, make traditional bone tools, share stories, language and connect with community, family and tradition.

Participants will:
-Develop traditional knowledge and hands-on skills in hide preparation, and traditional hide tanning tool making
-Deepen their understanding of the cultural significance of hide work
-Strengthen connections to the land
-Develop skills and confidence to continue practicing and sharing their traditional knowledge.
