Kwanlin Dün offers several tutoring programs to support students and life-long learners who want to develop their skills and be more successful.
Tutoring
One-on-one Tutoring is available at Kenädän Ku for students aged 5 to 21 years old from Monday to Thursday between 3 pm and 6 pm. Tutors can help with all subjects, and they are trained to help them meet their goals by determining the best way each student learns.
Homework Club is available at Kenädän Ku for students aged 5 – 21 years old from Monday to Thursday between 3 pm and 4:30 pm. Hours may vary depending on student need and tutor availability.
Reading Club is provided at Kenädän Ku for students from Kindergarten to Grade 5 from Monday to Thursday between 3 pm and 4:30 pm. This includes the Literacy afternoon held once a week with the Family Literacy Centre.
Information for parents
All students wishing to take part in a tutoring program must give the Education Department a signed permission form.
Parents or guardians are responsible for picking up and dropping off students. Tutors are not permitted to drive students’ home. If a student is walking home after the tutoring session, parents are asked to provide permission.
If your child will miss a tutoring session, 24 hours’ notice must be given to your tutor. You may instead email Krista.Strand@kdfn.net or leave a message at the House of Learning front desk at 867-633-8422. If more than three sessions are missed without 24 hours’ notice, a student may lose their tutoring time.
