Pathways to Empowerment and Support Program

Mandate

The Kwanlin Dün First Nation Pathway to Empowerment Program (Pathways) offers tailored case management to all citizens receiving income assistance.

The goal is to:

  • achieve wellness
  • regain self-sufficiency, and
  • where possible, facilitate a return to employment.

Citizens work with the Pathways Coordinator to develop a Pathway’s Plan that focuses on the physical, mental, social, education, career, emotional and/or spiritual aspects of their lives.

This plan initiates a ‘Circle of Care’ approach that may involve participants in culturally based programs, re-connection with community, continuing education, referral or other supports that identify and remove barriers to wellness and healing.
