Dear McIntyre Residents,

We want to let you know that ATCO & TERUS crews will be working in the McIntyre area over the next couple of weeks as part of an ongoing infrastructure project.

 

This work will involve construction activity throughout the neighbourhood and crews will be moving between different locations as the work progresses. Because the work involves underground infrastructure, the schedule may change from day to day depending on conditions.

 

ATCO Work (June 8 – 26)

ATCO’s contractor will be working on underground infrastructure and streetlights in the area, starting near the Hamilton Blvd. side of McIntyre Dr.

 

This work will move throughout the neighbourhood and may involve:

  • Construction activity and equipment
  • Noise, including hydro-vac work
  • Temporary sidewalk detours
  • Road cuts and restoration
  • Short-term disruptions as crews move between locations

 

Due to the nature of underground work, schedules can change and exact timing at each location is not always predictable.

 

Road Work – Terus (Starting June 12)

The project contractor, Terus, will begin the next phase of roadwork on June 12 at the north end of McIntyre Drive (near Petro Canada).

 

During this work:

  • Traffic speeds will be reduced to 30 km/hour
  • Traffic may be limited to single-lane alternating at times

 

What’s Next

Additional work, including bicycle lane barriers and permanent line painting, is expected to begin in July. All work is targeted for completion later this year.

 

We understand this work may cause inconvenience at times and appreciate your patience as these important improvements are completed. All crews have been advised to maintain safe, respectful worksites and to minimize disruption wherever possible.
