Position Summary:
Reporting to the Director of Community Services, the Capital Projects Analyst supports the planning, coordination, and execution of Kwanlin Dün First Nation’s (KDFN) capital and infrastructure projects. This is an entry‑level to early‑career professional role designed to build foundational skills in capital project delivery, procurement, coordination, and reporting.

 

The Analyst works under the direction of senior staff and contributes analytical, administrative, and coordination support across all phases of capital projects, including planning, procurement, construction, and close‑out. The position offers progressive responsibility and learning opportunities with exposure to regulatory processes, consultants, contractors, and internal departments.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Capital project support and coordination;
  • Planning, analysis and documentation;
  • Procurement, contract and land permitting & regulatory support;
  • Design & construction support;
  • Project close-out and transition support

Required Qualifications (what we look for on your resume):  An equivalent combination of post-secondary education, combined with significant current/lived experience in the areas identified above, will equally be considered.

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in project management, engineering technology, business administration, construction management, or a related field.
  • 1–3 years of relevant experience in project coordination, administration, analysis, or a related role.
  • Experience or coursework related to capital projects, construction, or public‑sector work is an asset.
  • Experience working with or an understanding of First Nation governments is an asset but not required.

  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn and apply project management and capital delivery practices.
  • Collaborative, respectful, and culturally aware approach.
  • Ability to follow direction while progressively taking on increased responsibility

Knowledge of Yukon First Nations history within formalized education systems, residential schools and on-going intergenerational effects specific to education and social programming is an asset. Familiarity with Kwanlin Dün First Nation history, culture, goals and aspirations is required for success in the role.
