Public Notice to Resident – Deck and Landing Repairs & Replacements

Dear KDFN Tenants,

The Community Services Department is currently assessing decks and landings across all KDFN properties to ensure they meet safety and quality standards.

If your deck or landing is in need of repair or replacement, we encourage you to report the issue to our office. As part of our ongoing maintenance and improvement efforts, we will be:

  • Repairing existing structures as needed, or
  • Replacing eligible structures with:
    • An upper landing measuring up to 5 ft by 8 ft, and
    • A small lower landing, if required by the National Building Code.

These upgrades are intended to enhance safety, durability, and accessibility for all tenants.

To Report a Deck or Landing Concern:
Please contact the Tenant Relations Officer:

📞 Phone: (867) 633-7833 ext. 409
📧 Email: davis.mckay@kdfn.net
🕒 Office Hours: Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.

When submitting a request, please include:

  • Your address
  • A brief description of the issue
  • Photos of the deck or landing (if available), to help us prioritize assessments.

Please note that not all decks can/will be upgraded. We will handle requests as they come in, triaging based on inspection.

Additionally, if your home has been selected for the GNPP deep energy retrofit programs, decks will be upgraded as part of the work scope.

Thank you for your cooperation in helping us maintain safe and comfortable homes for all KDFN tenants.

Sincerely,
Kwanlin Dün First Nation
Community Services Department
