After more than 30 years of recovery efforts for the Southern Lakes Caribou—and with the 2025 release of the Southern Lakes Caribou Relationship Plan—we invite you to come together to celebrate on the land.

Enjoy activities for all ages:

  1. Community feast starts at 4 p.m.
  2. Sign up for a short helicopter ride to Mt. Granger Ice Patch to tour and talk about caribou hunting (bring warm clothing & sturdy footwear)
  3. Activities including campfire bannock making, sewing, stories, UTV rides, traditional medicine
  4. Kids’ activities, including an opportunity to sign up for horseback riding
  5. Learn about freshwater fish, discover aquatic bugs, fish cutting, and preservation
  6. Fly-fishing demonstrations—learn to cast a fly rod
  7. (Weather permitting) help set a fish net at Łu Zil Män

What to bring:
Potlatch bags, a camp chair, and please note that children under 15 must be accompanied by a guardian.

Rides available starting at 12 p.m. from the Multi-Purpose building, 19 McIntyre Drive.

Come share food, stories, and experiences on the land as we honour the caribou, freshwater fish, salmon, and our connections to them.

If you need transportation, rides are available. The pick up location is the Multipurpose building, 19 McIntyre Drive. Pick ups will be done at noon, 1, and 3:30 p.m. If you need to contact the drive, please phone 867-333-0475. See you there!
